IBM Cognos 10.1.1 customers are to benefit immediately from licence changes  which mean that Enhanced Consumer Licence holders will now have access to Cognos Mobile free of charge.  Cognos 8 customers currently have to pay for a Mobile Licence as well as purchasing server software which can make the cost per mobile user prohibitively expensive for some companies.  Upgrading to Cognos 10.1.1 may be more cost effective for many customers who require mobile access for their users.  Additionally, IBM have introduced two new licences:

• Mobile Consumer, where the user only has access on their mobile device and no server licence is required
• Active Reports, where the user only needs disconnected capability (for example, to analyse data and reports whilst away from the office).
