Tahola was formed in February 2000 by myself and three
colleagues, Mick Deol, Simon Blackbourne and Geoff McClure. We had
all held senior financial and IT positions and met whilst working
for our previous employer. Individually, we had all been
providing Business Intelligence solutions for our customers or
business managers in different companies for some years. The
time seemed right for Business Intelligence and so we pooled our
skills and set up Tahola!
Initially, we targeted retail and hospitality companies because
it was a market we all knew well. Our customers buy from us
because we understand the market in which they operate and can
offer practical solutions and advice to help them increase their
profits. This is a philosophy which we all still believe in
today and have applied to other industry sectors.
Mick and I believed it might be possible to develop a solution
for the retail and hospitality market to reduce the time taken to
implement a Business Intelligence system. So we
developed EposMart and although some fine
tuning is required to meet the exact needs of each customer and the
nuances of some systems, it's proved enormously successful.
EposMart was the first of many solutions we developed for
markets where we have industry knowledge. Today we also have
pre-built solutions for media companies, wholesalers and motor
dealers.
The business has grown steadily. We now have two offices;
a sales office in Letchworth, Hertfordshire and a support office in
Long Buckby, Northamptonshire. The team has grown too, to 10
people, most of whom are involved in implementation and
support. We now offer full performance management solutions
that include budgeting, forecasting and planning as well as
Business Intelligence.
